Head’s Blog: December 16
Welcome to the final weekly blog of the year. It has been a fabulously entertaining week at the prep school, and may I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
There was plenty of festive-themed events this week as a reward to all our pupils for their fantastic work throughout the term.
Our Early Years and Reception classes dressed to impress at a special Fairy Tale Ball, where they danced and ate the afternoon away and all looked fantastic in their outfits.
In addition our annual Christmas Party had plenty of fun outfits from both pupils and staff alike, where they paraded at assembly, had a visit from Santa and enjoyed a mouth-watering dinner courtesy of our hard working catering staff.
This week also saw the annual inter-house hockey and football tournament, where classmates battled it out for valuable house points.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and to the winners Pembroke (football) and Snowdon (hockey).
This week also saw members of our prep choir join forces with the senior school to spread Christmas cheer across three venues in the region.
Starting at the Victoria Shopping Centre in Llandudno, the choir then moved on to Merton Place Residential and Redcroft Nursing Homes. During the first leg of the mini-tour, the choir also managed to raise £211 for Ty Gobaith – congratulations to all involved.
Our sports teams finished off the year in some style against Liverpool College, with both hockey and rugby sides achieving phenomenal success with a number of fine victories.
Congratulations go to John Dick, who is now one step closer to achieving a Black Belt thanks to another fantastic karate grading.
That’s all from me. Thanks for taking the time to read the blog throughout the year, I hope it has given you a better insight on the sort of things we get up to here at Rydal Penrhos. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
