Fundraising pupil raises over £500!

A 10-year-old pupil from Rydal Penrhos Prep School singlehandedly raised over £500 in aid of a young resident at the Eithinog, Leonard Cheshire Home in Colwyn Bay.

Grace Ormerod, a pupil in Year 6 at the School raised £530 by completing a sponsored walk around the Great Orme in Llandudno. The money raised will be used to help purchase an electric winch lift for a young female resident at the home, to help her to get in and out of bed and into her wheelchair more comfortably.

When delivering the cheque, Grace was able to meet the resident and was very pleased and proud to be able to help her.

Nancy Gates, service manager at Eithinog Leonard Cheshire Disability said:

“_We would like to thank Grace for the hard work and determination she has shown by taking on this challenge and raising an amazing £530. The money will be used to buy a piece of mobility equipment to help one of the residents at Eithinog to get in and out of bed._”

Rydal Penrhos Prep School has a strong reputation for its efforts to raise funds for charity. The School is delighted that a pupil has used her own initiative to fundraise to help improve the comfort of the resident.
