Christmas carols inspire creative writing
A Winter Wonderland was the theme for an Inter-House Creative Writing competition organised by Mrs Bowman for pupils in Year 6 and Year 7 at the Senior School.
The titles of Christmas carols were used as a source of inspiration for pupils to write a poem or short story for their competition entries. With house points at stake for the winners and runners-up, pupils put a lot of hard work and effort into their work.
The competition entries were judged by Mrs Bowman and Dr Edwards and Mrs Brown from the Senior School, who were very impressed by the standard of the work produced. The results were announced during the final assembly of the term at Prep School on Wednesday 14 December.

Bleak snow
Sprawling
A swathe of heavy carpet

Standing

Guarding the house from threat

Blood red breast
Shining
A vivid warning flare

Stooping
Under their heavy burden

White as icing sugar
A cloak
Draping around their bony shoulders
