Hockey teams visit Liverpool College and compete in Colwyn Bay Hockey League
The Hockey teams were kept busy with a trip to Liverpool College, as well as the U11 team competing in the Colwyn Bay Hockey League. Thank you to the pupils for these excellent match reports.
U11 Hockey v Liverpool College (away)
On Friday 11th November, the U11 hockey team played Liverpool College. The match started with a Liverpool push back and soon they managed to score the first goal of the match. There was good defending by Helena Rowlands and Hannah Bloodworth as Liverpool College pushed forward, but they didn’t score another goal. Then it was half-time. After a quick pep talk from Mrs Pyves we went back on. Ten minutes into the second half and Liverpool College scored again. The final score was 2-0 to Liverpool. Well done to all the team and thank you to Mrs Pyves for taking us.
Final score: 2-0 to Liverpool College
U11B Hockey v Liverpool College (away)
Under 11A, B and U10’s travelled to Liverpool College to play hockey. I was honoured to be made captain of the U11B team. After a quick warm up we were ready to play. We started off with the first centre pass. With some good defending we kept the ball out of the goal and eventually Alexi Gilmartin managed to score a goal. Then followed a goal for Liverpool College and that led to another goal for them before half time. After a quick drink and pep-talk from Mrs Stevenson we were off again. Sadly Liverpool College scored twice again but finally with some good dribbling from Alexis Katsouris who passed to Raha Aminnejad who passed to Alexi, we managed to score leaving the final score 4-2 to Liverpool College.
A big well done to the whole team for a good game and thank you Mrs Pyves for taking us and thank you to all the parents who came to support us!
Players of the match goes to Raha. Well done!
Final score: 4-2 to Liverpool College

Last Friday the under ten hockey team travelled to Liverpool College. The match started with Phoebe Taylor passing to Amy Bale, who made a great pass to Hannah Mew-McAdam who ran it up the wing passing back to Amy who scored. The score was now 1-0 to Rydal. We scored two more goals before half time, but Liverpool College scored in the last minute.

U11 Hockey v Llandrillo – part of the Colwyn Bay Hockey League (away)
On Saturday 12th November the U11 hockey team played Llandrillo as part of the Colwyn Bay Hockey League. We started well as quite a few of us were not in our usual positions. Llandrillo scored the first goal but we responded by scoring 5 minutes later. After we had half-time we got back into the game and Llandrillo scored another goal. The final score was 2-1 to Llandrillo. Thank you to Mrs Pyves for coaching and encouraging us.
