Bright and sparkling fireworks inspire poetry
Zooming, blasting and twirling fireworks were the theme of the day, as Rydal Penrhos Prep School welcomed poet Kate Williams, who delivered poetry workshops for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Kate transformed Mrs Bowman’s class into an imaginary bonfire night, with pupils challenged to write a poem about fireworks.
To start, pupils were asked to think of different words they could use to describe the movement of the fireworks, before thinking about ways to describe the loud explosions and the sparkly result.
Although the poems weren’t quite finished on the day of the workshop, the pupils have been working hard to complete them, and we’re delighted to reveal the finished work by Year 4.
