Year 5 visit St Asaph Cathedral
Pupils in Year 5 enjoyed a visit to St Asaph Cathedral on Thursday 13 October 2011 as part of their studies on the Bible.
During the visit, pupils were lucky enough to see one of only three surviving copies of Bishop William Morgan’s Welsh Bible, which is housed in the Cathedral, as part of a workshop into how the Bible is used in worship.
Next came the opportunity to become a Bishop, a Dean or a Canon as pupils learnt about the Anglican system of dioceses in Wales.
To finish off the visit, a whistle-stop Treasure Hunt around the Cathedral building took place.
Reverend Nick Sissons, Chaplain at Rydal Penrhos Prep School said of the visit: “The pupils were as ever, beautifully well-behaved and the cathedral staff offered another well-planned and delivered set of presentations. The School would like to thank the Cathedral staff for organising the visit and also Mrs Oliver for coming along with the children to assist myself and Mrs Pyves.”
