Irish luck with the ski team
Thank you to Keira Bonnington for this review of the Irish Dry Ski Slope Championships held 1 & 2 October 2011.
Last weekend some pupils travelled to Ireland for the Irish Dry Ski Slope Championships.
We got there on Friday and had a good night’s sleep before the race the next day.
Unfortunately, while you guys were baking in the sun, it was the rainiest day of the year in Ireland. And because it was so wet the slope was zooming fast!
After the minis snake and the course inspection the race finally started and first out of the gate was Keira Bonnington. Keira was 3rd in the first race and 2nd in the Irish Open Championships.
After a few more races it came to Alex Davies who had a great run but then again he was going so fast he missed a gate! But in the Irish Open Championships Alex did really well to get 3rd.
Despite having a broken wrist Ben Constantine managed to get in to a good second place. On the second day Ben was fastest on the run but on the second run Ben had two little falls and decided to have a great ending on one ski!
Good luck to the team at Llangrannog this weekend for the Welsh Schools Championships.
