Residential Strength and Conditioning Intern

Rydal Penrhos School is a co-educational day and boarding school located in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The school has a rich sporting history having produced many international athletes over the years and current students compete regionally or nationally in girls’ and boys’ hockey, netball, rugby, sailing, table tennis and swimming with many others on NGB performance pathways. For September 2016 we have a vacancy for a strength and conditioning intern. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone to gain experience in what is required to become a strength and conditioning coach in a sporting environment. This is a voluntary role, ideal for a graduate from a Coaching, PE or Sport Science degree who would like to take their first step into working within sport or a current student on the above courses looking to fulfil a 3 month work placement. Applicants should possess or be working towards their full UKSCA accreditation.

Position Available:
Strength and Conditioning Internship. The applicant will develop experience in strength and conditioning and athletic development training across all sports delivered in the school. The successful applicant will shadow the Head of Strength and Conditioning, Strength and Conditioning Coach and PE teachers to gain experience across a range of sports. The position will run until the end of the Autumn Term or longer should the successful applicant wish to continue in the role.

Although no experience is necessary for this post a high level of IT skills are required and a working knowledge of a strength and conditioning would be advantageous.

Residential Video Analysis Intern

Position Available:
Resident Video Analysis Internship. The applicant will shadow staff to develop experience in filming matches and training in rugby, hockey and netball as well as gaining an insight in how to prepare footage for presentation by Heads of Sport or team coaches. The position will run until the end of the Autumn Term or longer should the successful applicant wish to continue in the role.

Part Time Visiting Music Tutors

We require a part-time Visiting Music Tutor of drums/percussion to work in the Music Department of Rydal Penrhos School from October 2016

The tutor will be required to teach drums/percussion from beginners to grade 8 and enthuse all pupils to be interested in learning instruments from reception to Sixth form.
Tutors must have high aspirations and standards and be enthusiastic. Also required is a desire to attain great results at all levels and the ability to prepare students for ABRSM/Rockschool examinations, competitions and other public performances. In addition, tutors will be required to contribute to the schools extra-curricular musical activities and ensembles. A sense of humour and willingness to contribute and be part of a very dynamic, vibrant, exciting team are essential to the role.

Hours of work: Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm
Some evening work may be needed for concerts and rehearsals
Approximately 6 hours per week per instrument

Weekend Dining Room Assistant

Term time plus 2 weeks per year for lettings (41 weeks paid)

We are looking to recruit a Dining Room Assistant to undertake catering and cleaning duties within a professional Catering Department.

Hours of work will be: split shift
Saturday 08.45-14.15 , 17.00-19.00hrs
Sunday 10.45-12.45 , 17.00-19.00hrs
Total hours paid 11.5

Rate of pay: £7.50 per hour
Uniform and Saturday lunch is provided.

Catering Assistant

Rydal Penrhos Senior School require a Catering Assistant to work in the vegetable preparation area and perform other catering duties as required .The successful applicant would be required to produce a high quality service to pupils, staff and visitors of Rydal Penrhos School, approximately 550 meals per service.
Catering experience in a similar environment would be desirable.
Applicants will be required to work unsupervised and to be flexible to cater for additional events as required.

Hours of work:
Monday – Friday 9.00am-2.30pm , 27.5 hours (Term Time Only)
Rate of pay- National living Wage applies
35 weeks term time , plus 4 weeks holidays , plus one week on lettings outside School term, with other hours available.
Pension available
Uniform and meals are provided (during working hours).
